Osanna Visconti

Chanukkiah Candle Holder 1524

30 x 44,50 x 7 cm

Bronze

Osanna Visconti’s Chanukkiah is deeply rooted in the artistic research of the Milan-based artist and designer, whose practice has long translated the formal vocabulary of the natural world into bronze through the ancient technique of lost-wax casting.

Branches emerging from a common trunk, an organic growth reaching upward: the work introduces into the tradition of the Jewish candelabrum the same visual grammar that characterizes Visconti’s wider practice. Here, bronze preserves the memory of the natural gesture from which the form appears to grow, while the organic structure becomes a vehicle for an ongoing exploration of balance, harmony and beauty.

The Chanukkiah thus occupies a space between the ritual and the natural, between an inherited symbolic form and its contemporary transformation. Nature becomes both source and language, while the material itself carries the memory of growth.
