Enamelled fibreglass

The sculpture, in enamelled fibreglass consists of a three-dimensional, human figure in white with no legs. The figure is stylized, and the components of the body are so simplified that they are merely volumes, while the clothing is recognizable. Each arm holds four wax candles, while the ninth light, the centrally positioned shamash, rests on a black-blue shadow. The sculpture is inspired by the mythical figure of Icarus, interpreted in a contemporary key, where humor and anguish intersect in an unresolvable dualism.
