The lamp, a jointed mechanical structure bolted together, stands on a plain wooden base with a brass Star of David. A vertical iron bar rises from the base. Eight bolts are joined and set perpendicularly to the bar, each protruding in a different direction and having a different length. At the end of each bolt, an iron plate supports the white Hanukkah light. The twisted silver candle at the top of the structure, which is bigger than the others, represents the shamash.
