The lamp is a long rectangular box made of lead, a metal that, according to alchemic tradition, could turn into gold. The box contains a series of Polaroid images of butterflies in flight. Their movements have been captured on film and so the box is like a chrysalis with a new life starting to move inside it. The lights are placed on the top of the frame.
