Assemblage of painted wood and metal

Nine pieces of wood are painted in various colours and arranged on three vertical metal rods. A spherical candle-holder is placed on each coloured piece. The shamash is set at the top of the structure, isolated from the other lights. The artist seeks to represent, with his customary visual power and geometric rigour, the intrinsic meaning of the festival of Hanukkah: the will to survive and the dominion of Light over Darkness.
