The artist has harnessed the geometrically and graphically interesting forms of Kabel Hebrew characters to compose a caption of nine letters (the same number as there are lights on the hanukkiah): “Chag Hanukkà Sameach” (“Happy Hanukkah”). He created a model in wood, from which a mould was made for a brass die casting. The letters were subsequently removed, finished and polished. The base, too, is a casting. The candle holders were turned from extruded brass.
