Oak block with vinyl action figure toy, with drips of two-part resin

A block of oak serves as a base. A vinyl action figure is positioned at the centre, and a pink resin is dripped over its head. The eight lights are arranged at the sides of the figure, five to the left, three to the right. The ninth light, the shamash, is placed in front of the toy. The artist has chosen to emphasise that in a society in which mass media are anaesthetising younger generations, Pop Culture leads us to prefer a cartoon figure to traditional icons that date back millennia.
