This lamp is forged from spirals of soft iron; it comprises a rectangular base on which, seen from the long side, the eight lights are arranged in two rows. The ninth light, the shamash, is easily distinguished, sitting to the far right in isolation. The artist’s experience of working in a mechanic’s workshop over the years has fed into a piece in which he gives full expression to his character.
