Asti

34,8 x 34 x 16,5 cm

Solid aluminium and anodised aluminium tubes

The title of the lamp is Asti. The reference here is to the word “aste” (the Italian word for rods) which are what the lamp is made of. It is also a tribute to the ancient Jewish Community in Asti, a town not far from Casale Monferrato. The hanukkiah is in the traditional shape of the menorah, the seven-branched lamp in the Temple of Jerusalem. The shamash is recognisable at the centre, higher than the others. Since the times of the Bible, Blue has always been regarded as the Jewish colour.
