Polyurethane foam, fibreglass, gelcoat and glass

The work is conceived as a large black mass of an undefined and undetermined material: the transparent glass flames at the top are the only components that are clearly distinguishable. The ninth light, the shamash, is a self-standing element, a sort of small rock standing apart from the main mass. The lamp is an antithesis of light and darkness, yet these are fused within within a single block in which the lines move upwards, towards the light. Solid becomes liquid; dark becomes light, strength becomes airiness; a sinergy of opposites coming together.
