The S-shaped iron base is a Murano glass-blowing pipe; it bears eight small iron rods, arranged in succession. Blue and white fragments of broken glass in varying and different sizes have been slotted onto these rods. At the top of the rods are eight round iron candle holders. The ninth candle, the shamash, is arranged exactly in the middle, on a tubular stand made of blue glass. It is supported by a small ball in white-blown Murano glass streaked with blue, which is separated from the base by two mobile rings with different diameters made of blue and white glass.
